Apple Strongly believes that wireless headphones is the wave of the future. This is evident by Apple’s recent decision to remove the headphone jack from the iPhone 7. People asked the question what if I have a favorite set of headphones that I love. What if I want to charge my phone and listen to music at the same time. If you do not want to throw out your $200 dollar Bose headphones and you don’t want to use the dongle that Apple provided here are a couple options that I use. Keep in mind that these units need to be charged too but they give you 6 hours up to 10+ hours of listening before having the charge these units.
These units will also be a great go-between if you have an older stereo that requires are AUX input to plug into your phone’s headphone jack.
There are lots of options on the market. These are just a few that I have had my hands on and know work great. I’m sure there will be more coming out over the next several months.
I really like this unit. I recently purchased it so that I would have a 2nd bluetooth device for bike riding. Coming in a $18.99 on Amazon it’s a great solution. I have taken this on bike rides. The sound is great for music. Being that I road bike a lot and sometimes use an App to determine my rides I love that I can hear my turning directions and not get tangled up with cords. The unit can also make phone calls. I’m very happy with this device.
- Smart BeanI actually bought this when it was a Kickstarter about 3 or more years ago. I’ve been using this pretty consistently during my morning workout. This unit does not allow you to make phone calls but does a great job playing music. Battery life is as advertised 6-8 hours. This unit is $24.99 which may seem overpriced when you can buy the above unit for under 20 dollars.
There are lots of other options out there. If you have a favorite device let us know.
